Con una aproximaci\u00f3n pict\u00f3rica al bordado, alimentan la narrativa y el simbolismo de su obra con una mirada antropof\u00e1gica sobre la historia de las artes decorativas del mundo. La multipremiada pareja ha expuesto tanto a nivel local como internacional en lugares como el Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, la Bienal de Venecia 2024 y el Victoria &amp; Albert Museum.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para MERIDIANS, proponen exponer por primera vez el bordado hecho a mano de \u201cLa familia en el alegre verdor\u201d, una conmovedora reflexi\u00f3n sobre la autoexotizaci\u00f3n del arte latinoamericano en el mundo del arte contempor\u00e1neo internacional que anticip\u00f3 el auge actual del textil. Realizado por los propios artistas, es una reelaboraci\u00f3n del motivo con el que ganaron el Premio de la Cit\u00e9 International de la Tapisserie d\u2019Aubusson 2013. El premio dio lugar a la producci\u00f3n de un tapiz por los tejedores de la casa, que ahora forma parte de la colecci\u00f3n de\u00a0 Aubusson, convirti\u00e9ndose en el primer paisaje latinoamericano producido por la renombrada casa de tapices cuya historia se remonta a la d\u00e9cada de 1400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Chiachio &amp; Giannone are a queer duo based in Buenos Aires who have been working together for 20 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They work primarily through the medium of textiles under a poetic insistence on the genre of the family portrait as a means for queer expression. With a pictorial approach to fabric, they nourish their work\u2019s narrative and symbolism with an anthropophagic take on the history of world\u2019s decorative arts. The multi-awarded couple has exhibited both locally and internationally at venues such as Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, the Venice Biennale 2024, and the Victoria &amp; Albert Museum. Currently, a large retrospective exhibition can be visited at the Fortabat Collection, inaugurated on August 22nd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For MERIDIANS, they propose to exhibit for the first time the handmade embroidery of La Famille dans la Joyeuse Verdure, a poignant reflection on the self-exoticization of Latin American art in the international contemporary art world that anticipated the current boom of textiles. Produced by the artists themselves, it is a reworking of the motif with which they won the 2013 Prize of the Cit\u00e9 International de la Tapisserie d\u2019Aubusson.
