Para el Kabinett de Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, Chiachio & Giannone presentan Madurones, una serie de cinco obras textiles que retratan escenas de la vida cotidiana entre dos hombres maduros. Momentos en la cocina, en el living o en rutinas compartidas muestran la calidez y la intimidad de la domesticidad queer.
La serie retoma el espíritu de proyectos anteriores, enfocándose en la calma y la riqueza de una vida ya vivida. Cada pieza combina dibujo sobre tela, tintes y tintas, apliques y bordados recuperados, creando un juego dinámico de color, textura y patrones.
Las imágenes reúnen referencias a estéticas indígenas, formas modernistas y paisajes naturales de Argentina y otros territorios, tejiéndolas en escenas que parecen simples pero que resuenan con profundidad cultural y emocional.
Para ABMB, la instalación incluye un wallpaper diseñado especialmente que enmarca la rotación diaria de las cinco obras. Este gesto introduce variaciones sutiles dentro del espacio, evocando el paso del tiempo que atraviesa Madurones: un proyecto sobre la ternura, la vida en común y la belleza silenciosa de la rutina.
For the Kabinett at Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, Chiachio & Giannone present Madurones, a series of five textile works that portray scenes from the everyday life of two mature men. Moments in the kitchen, the living room, or in quiet shared routines highlight the warmth and intimacy of queer domesticity.
The series continues the spirit of earlier projects while focusing on the calm and richness of life already lived. Each piece combines drawing on fabric, dye and ink painting, appliqué, and repurposed embroidery, creating a dynamic interplay of color, texture, and pattern.
The imagery brings together references to Indigenous aesthetics, modernist forms, and natural landscapes from Argentina and abroad, weaving them into scenes that appear simple but resonate with cultural and emotional depth.
For ABMB, the installation features a custom wallpaper that frames a daily rotation of the five works. This simple gesture introduces subtle changes within the booth, echoing the passing of time at the heart of Madurones: a project about tenderness, shared life, and the quiet beauty of routine.
